Be the Change

Updated: Mar 27, 2019

Dear Friends of the YogaConnection,

New Classes | New Teachers | New Massage Therapist

First, I want to let you know that starting this coming Thursday, Jan 24th, we will be offering a Just Yoga class at 6:30 to 7:30pm with a lovely new teacher on staff, Kelly Pearson. She is a yoga teacher and also a yoga therapist. I know all of you are going to really enjoy her. She is native of Plymouth but just moved back after being in Texas. I hope you will all welcome her.

A reminder of our other new class with Peg Grande and that is the awesome Chair Yoga class that is on Thursdays, also at 11:00 am until noon. Don’t be put off about the chair. You will be amazed at what Peg can do with you, a chair and yoga. It is a class for every and anyone….if you just feel the floor is too cold in the studio…come sit in a chair.

One other treat we have is an in-house massage therapist, Marian Connors. She has miracle hands. She loves her work and because she loves sharing her healing energy, her prices are so, so reasonable…$65 for an hour and a Thai massage for an hour and 15 min. is $75.

I just want to say that I feel so grateful to have such wonderful teachers and healers at the Studio. And I am grateful for all the support you have shown all of us here. We have the best students!

Millionth Circle and the 100th Monkey

Some of you “old timers” might remember when I did a Millionth Circle group at the Studio. We met a few times and then, as things happen, we disbanded

I feel strongly that the time is come to initiate the Circle again. It is based on the phenomenon of the tipping point. When a critical number of people change how they think and behave, the culture does also and a new era begins. I don’t know about you, but I am ready for a new era.

There is a story, true or not, called the 100th Monkey. I will leave copies of it in the studio and/or you can read about it here:

Women's Circles having been going on for a long time, each with their own identity. They wax and wane, but, they happen...and people that participate - change...and their change affects others.

You know the expression "Be the change you want to see”...

What the world needs now more than ever is an infusion of women's energy, not just women politicians, but women who work, mothers, grandmothers, caretakers, widows, divorced women, women in recovery, women with life threatening illnesses.

However we identify, we all have something to share. We are all wise women. A new circle can begin with an idea or a yearning to be in a circle.

I have that, now that I am officially a crone.

I would love to have feedback if any of you would like to create a circle. We can then meet and talk about what we want to be…a discussion group, a support group, a study group or a group that has a project or a cause. Then, wecan decide when to meet and what to call ourselves. We can decide how often we meet and for how long.

The idea of a circle is...that we are all equal and we can all speak for ourselves.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts of a circle of independency. We are free to speak or remain silent. My hope is that we can learn from one another. The shared wisdom can then be filtered through all of us to those beyond our circle.

Please leave me a message on the studio phone, 508.746.4446 or my cell 508.269.5780.

Winter is here and as I write this I am locked in my house as my garage doors are frozen shut. I hope to see you on mat when the frost melts!

Enjoy the light of the beautiful moon should be connecting us to the power of the universe of which each of us is a microcosm.

Namaste,

Barbara
