Yoga FAQ

What is Hatha Yoga?

Yoga is an ancient discipline of movement and relaxation. Practiced on a regular basis, Yoga helps to quiet the mind and soothe the body while it improves breath, energy, and flexibility. Classes consist of gentle warm-up stretches and a series of postures called asanas . They follow the natural rhythms of the body synchronizing movement and breathing. Each class ends with a period of relaxation, which helps to integrate the healing benefits of the postures on the mind, body, and spirit. Every class leaves you feeling energized and in a state of harmony and balance.

Yoga is not a religion, a cult, or a competition. You don't have to be flexible or in perfect health to receive the benefits of Yoga. Yoga is about listening to your body and finding acceptance of where you are in the present moment.
